If I were to set up a 55 pred tank, Iwould get a couple Gulper Cats. They dont fit your criteria because they arent active.

they can be very active when kept in groups of 3 or more.

Some wolf fish are in that range but they just sit around all day like you don't want. The laziness criteria limits what you can put in there.

I think silver dollars would look cool though and always in view.

if its not applicable go for a gt or a black belt would also do fine a 55

A black belt will not do fine in a 55g. They get as large as oscars also they are not predatory. If it were me i would go with some bichirs, maybe 2 senegals and 1 delhezi.
