pictus cat is a cool fast swimming catfish mine is almost 5 1/2 inches and tough mine has been in with most big boys and survives just fine.Just do a search and you will find alot of info on them oh and a cave is a must fo them to be happy.

I just picked up one and in the tank I have like 4 caves so he should be fine hes alittle scitish right now but all my fish were except the convict ill keep in formed. I do like them they have alot of energy.

Pictus cats are a great choice but if the jd or other fish start to bully them, and you see them swimming at the top of the tank, it means they have ich, it starts eating them away from the inside. I have some dollars in my 55 now and they get bullyed by a tinfoil barb so i dont think theyd be any match for a jd

55 is way too small for sd's have you seen full grown ones?
make a 6x2x2 look like a 20g

My pictus just came out of his cave and grabbed a bunch of bloodworms now he has a fat marble sized belly. They do love the night might want to put some food in when the lights are out.

Yeah I havent really see him eat unlees I put the food right by his cave. But ill put a waffer for him tonight. Can you tell me what else they would Ive only see him eat waffers, mealworms, and him cleaning the bottom of the tank once and awhile.

They are little pigs once they settle in to there new home he will sense anything that sinks bloodworms,beefhart,shrimp... and come out and eat in a frenzy. When they get bigger they will not tolerate any other catfish sharing the cave with them so i wouldnt add anymore cats.
