you could do some kind of Aequidens besides a GT. they're usually laid back

I was REEEEEALLLLY wanting a Blue Acara (even when I first set up the tank, before I got the Angels) but I was afraid it wouldn't work with the tetras, rams and plants.

yeah a blue acara should work.

They are so pretty :)

Green Terrors are actually one of my favorite fish, but my kids just wouldn't be happy with one fish in a tank, they like several in there.

Well I called my LFS and they don't have Blue Acaras in stock, but they took my name & number and will call me when they can order them and let me know when they will be available from quarentine. :)

If all hell were to break loose (if I got a nasty acara) I have a divider on hand.

The aggression level of my angel is down since she lost her spawning buddy, so hopefully a single acara would be okay. A lot of people told me that a breeding pair of Angels would annihilate cardinal tetras and they are all fine.

Fins and skins had several 3" blue acaras...they're like $12 a piece

they've been in store for a couple months.

I've never even been in there...for some reason I thought they were saltwater?? I go to Aquarium on Papermill

Checked today and they still had one. Tail split a little bit but it's nothing a few days wouldn't heal up.

nah, they're mostly freshwater with some snakes and saltwater in the very back.

I absolutely love my keyholes. They would be perfect if you can get over the dull coloration. I have two and they are aborable and be bop around the tank together. I also am in love with my Rainbow cichlids. I have a pack of three and they are perfecto. They have much more color and are just as peaceful. I have yet to see a bit of aggression out of them. They have special teeth for algae eating. This makes them unique and the only one in their genus. Acaras are a bit all over the place as far as aggression. I would go with a couple rainbow cichlids. They are wonderful for planted tanks or any tank really. Also hoplo catfish are really something. They are funny critters, always busy. I recommend.
