Thank you everyone for the replys. I picked up 7 tiger barbs and 2 clown loaches ( the loaches were half off). I acclimated for an hour and released the little guys. The parrot chased them for a little now no one even notices them. The loaches are hiding in the smallest darkest places in the tank is that normal?
thanks agai for all the replys this really helps me out.

Two really isn't the right number for clown loaches. Should be kept in groups of 5 or more.

ok so more clown loaches thanks.

also just a random question. My cichlids are hiding alot recently. they kinda stay in the rock caves and only come out to feed or chase off the barbs. Any idea whats up?

Yeah some people will harp about clown loaches in a 55g. They will outgrow the tank, but it takes a couple years though. Clown loaches are one of the easiest fish to rehome, people are always willing to buy large ones for good prices too.

I have a 50 breeder that right now is pretty overstocked once the fish get full grown myself. Im just kinda letting everyone grow and then I'll decide who Im going to keep based on color and size. For my dither fish I went with Giant Danios. They are extremely active and pretty fun, while being able to take the beating my Salvani's like to give them.

I agree about adding more Clown Loaches, but it is true that they will need to be moved as they get 10-12" once fully grown. They prefer groups of five or more, but you could do with three or four. Also, I agree with Gruff Master regarding other on here who have been able to keep Tiger Barbs / Mollies, but IME they have never worked. I want to have some dither type of fish, but I hate throwing money away even more!!! Good luck.

Yeah I'm not saying it can't work, just that it didn't in my case and I had larger barbs that had occupied that tank for about 4 years. Jd never really even paid them any attention or chased them at all. Picked em off at night. Slowly and methodically. Good luck with yours! You never know what will or won't work till you try.

Keep a close eye on your loaches too. Very prone to ich and if they're hiding it could be hard to tell if they have it. Medication is tricky with them as well.

Thanks for all the help guys. The cichlids are actually pretty cool with the barbs... And the loaches just hiding together in a cave. My cichlids are also hiding tho... They are all close together hiding in a cave and shy away when I come near the tank... Kinda odd, any thoughts?
