Alright guys so i'm doing some planning for wayyy in the future. So I want to get a 55 gallon tank, I was thinking maybeee putting just 1 oscar in but i'm really not sure if you guys can provide me with a really cool stock list that you think would be awesome please list it below :)

I would not get a 55 gallon. Dimensions are stupid. Get something like a 75 or a 90 gallon if you want a 4 foot tank that's not huge.

Get 6 clown loaches. They are awesome.

55 gallon is not big enough when they get bigger (I admit they grow slow). There's a lot of other species of Botia loaches that stay smaller and are just as entertaining and would do well in a 55 gallon for life.

I may do that....just really depends on the tank price. but right now i'm leaning towards the 55. I gotta do measurements in the room i'm gonna put the tank in once I move into the house this august so it's far off but I just want a general stock list of what you guys would put in a 55 just as a starting point may go bigger may go smaller we'll see

A 55 is pushing it for an Oscar. Yoyo loaches would do well in a 55g if you like loaches (I'm rather partial to them myself).

Could also do a breeding pair of Salvini in a 55g.

Or if you go with African fish could have a nice mbuna setup or even a tang community.

^ ooh i'm liking that, i may even do a pretty sick normal community tank just because it's really easy and for a few months other people are gonna be taking care of the tank, but i still would love to hear ideas :D

For the Tang community I have always thought about setting up it would be the following for a 55g give or take.

Pair of Shellies, Group of Blue Neon/Blue Flash (not the big ones), then a Comp.

aqualoon could you give me some more information about the tang community such as like if they require different PH than normal tropical fish?
