Do you think two smaller species of bichir such as palmas palmas, retropinnis, delhezi or palmas polli would get along with a grass pickerel in a 55 gallon tank?

if i knew what a grass pickerel was i would probably say yes.

its like a mini northern pike. it'll eat anything that falls into the water (but i don't think he'll mess with the bichir) they don't really defend themselves though.....so im just hoping the poly's don't get in a fight with him.

I don't think the polys will fight with a pike.

how big do they get? and are they top, middle, or bottom dwellers?if its a bottom dweller i wouldnt risk it.

EDIT: oooooooohhhhhhh, pike, right, they arent bottom dwellers.

its not a pike cichlid, its a north american pike.... get 12" max but most don't make it past 10"

they should be fine together as long as the grass pickerel isnt too small
id say you got it backwards they should work if there the same size pickerel don't get much more than a pound but longer then 12'' i think also there is chain pickerel that look alike when small but get much bigger

ya i know there is chain pickerel that gets bigger, but i have a very reliable source for my grass pickerel, so i know its an actual grass pickerel.

Hmm...Bichirs can get along with about anything they can't eat. Except super agressive fish.
