I’ve been cycling a 55 gallon tank for about a month now so it’s ready for some stocking.

But I have no clue on what to put in. I enjoy different fish like oddballs, but I don’t mind normal fish too.

My tank is relatively open. I have a sand bottom with light plants (Jungle Val) in one corner.

I know it’s a smaller tank, but I plan on updating to a bigger tank in one year or so.

Only restrictions I have is that I would like it to be under 50$ but I wouldn’t mind spending more on cretin fish if you guys and push me the right way.

well...what kinda fish u into?? africans? americans? cichs? cats? tell us what ur thinkin and we can help/guide u to makin the right decision...u got pics of ur tank?

Heres a picture of my tank. It's a bit barren, but i might add some more wood or some rocks.

I personly like medium sized fish. about like 3''+ or soo.

I kind of want to steer away from African Cichlids.

But i dont mind other types of fish.

a school of 30 exodon paradoxus :D

What are you thinking about upgrading too? Do you want multpile fish or a single big fish? Most of the big fish are aggresive and should be kept as lone specimins, fish like Umbee, Jags, Blackbelts, Midas, Red devils unless a very very large tank is provided.

Tiger Oscar....they eat everything

Or

Dinasour Bichir....they are really easy to care for and eat feeder fish as well...

Or

if you dont want big fish go for a school of Tiger Barbs...they are like pirhana when they eat.....get like 18

I don't know if it's the angle the picture was taken from or what, but the water level looks incredibley uneven. I would even that out to prevent possible cracks/leaks in the future.
