They are still there. I am saying in the future because I am in the process of selling them. No, I would not eat my pet fish.

just go with your heart and do what you want .. as long as the fish are happy ..everyone gets bored with their stock and changes out fish .. i just trade when i feel i learned enough from a group . their is gonna be die hard and fickle people .. i once got rid of my africans only cause i couldnt care for them.. and used a 125 gallon tank for 1 gold fish ..y cause i can..
