just goes to show the temperment of a species can vary from individual and i wish a arowana could live in a 55 lol.
Jds will be skittish in a tank that size from my experience. Hiding all the time. But you could try it.
Not all jds will be skittish. I had a pair that were constantly out and barely hide. It depends on the individual fish.

wow didnt know firemouths could hve that much red in them its between a firemouth species tank or jd pair also i dodnt want to spend alot of money for a pair of ebjd.
Istlanum or grammode....
Grammode will take a long time to reach a decent size but worth the wait.
Istlanum will have personality right away and I suggest you go with the Green variety as they get a little bigger and seem be slightly more aggressive from what I have seen.
