55 gallon strikes back

Okay, WHAT THE **** AM I SUPPOSED TO THINK!!!!!!!
On the pleco forum I asked how long he could stay in my 55, they said for life. I ask what can go with him, you say he will grow too big!
How long can he stay in the 55 gallon before he grows too big?
he is about 7 inches ATM

until hes about 9'' lol
not sure how long it will take. most bottom dwellers are slow growers, but im not an expert.

You shouldn't let him get any bigger that the width of the tank. 12" max.

Could I keep him in there for another year, because no new tanks till christmas.
I'm saving up for my final tank, my Mega 200 gallon.
Could I add more danios and a angelfish pair before he gets too big?
