im planning a simple 55 tang setup atm. julidochromis transcriptus, multies and cyps

good stock. I think I want some bigger cave dwellers though. would the transcriptus get along with another species?

You need to upgrade your tank soon. How big are your breeding fronts?

my fronts are 5-7 inches...im getting either a 220g or making a wooden above ground pond.

Those are all great fish. I've fallen in love with brichardis and comps. I want them with a colony of shellies and a shoal of cyps I think. I'm a little worried about the cave dwellers eating all my shellies though lol

As long as you have plenty of shells, most of the fry will survive. The calvus or comps would just help as fry control so you werent overun with fry lol I would do shell bed covering a foot of the tank for the shellies then have your rock piles for your cave dwellers. Then im sure you could fit a small school of the smaller cyps.
