I have a couple of 55s, both have young little cichlids growing out in them.
This first one came with everything for about 100 dollars, gravel and decorations included. But I did end up putting close to another 100 in it by replacing the filters with an AC 100, and the heater with a submersible. Right now I have young mayans and pollenis in there growing out. I plan to replace the cheesey decorations with rocks I'll collect once the climate is more favorable here. I can live with the gravel.
Thanks! Hopefully it will be nicer once I get some good rocks in there.
This one is in my new fishroom in the basement, it is also powered by an AC 110. It has a sand y bottom, and rocks I collected from a local river. There are marbled convicts and Lamprologus tetracanthus in there. It won't have CA cichlids in there for too much longer. I plan to move out the convicts eventually and find them another aquarium. They might get mauled by those nasty tetracanthus. So far I don't see any damage done. I have more rocks to add, but I'll wait untill after I move the convicts.
