55 gallon

rd are actually rated one of the beatutiful cichlids and one of the baddest cihlids to dwell in a tank.all the other fish metentioned like africans are alrite but who really wants 12 little 4 inch fish in a 55 gallon when u can get one big one that way meaner and has a better life expectancy.

I think the guy said he wants a one fish tank.
I think that rules out a group of Africans.

A Jaguar is WAY too big for a 55 gallon. He'll bust through that thing in no time.

An RD is a great way to go if you want 1 fish in a 55 that has personality.

So are Oscars and Green Terrors.
 
I'm just curious but where are RD's rated one of the most beautiful aquarium fish??? Go with a male GT or grammodes. Every once in a while there is a good looking RD out there if you can find one with black on it but I personally find the orange and orange/white ones rather boring to look at other then when they are eating. But any cichlid is fun to watch hunt.
