Hello everyone I will soon have an empty 55 gallon, I was wondering what to stock it with. I was thinking a jd or 2 and some corydoras and dithers or a green terror and some corydoras or pictus. What do you all think? Feel free to give any criticism or suggestions. Thanks

severums would be nice gts can possably out grow the 55, jd's are slow growers and i personally think severums colors are prettier

Ok I'll consider the severum. How many would I be able to have in a 55g though?

Ok what about a pictus or Raphael? And would a pair of jd be good in a 55g for life?

you could keep a pair of sevs in it with other fish, and i heard sevs arent as aggressive towards other fish so you could get the corys and that too

You could have both in a 55 gallon for a long time. GTs take forever to grow out to 12", it takes years.

Ok I'm thinking either a pair of sevs or a pair of jack dempseys now. What would I be able to keep with them in a 55g if any?(Bottom dwellers, dithers, algae eaters and the such)

sevs would be anything, jd's depending on aggression would prolly kill everything smalled and less aggresive then them

I think a pair of JDs would be great. That is what I keep in my 55 gal. and they are the strongest bonded pair of fish I've ever had. I've heard of some people having the same pair for up to 8 or 10 years. As far as tank mates go, you may be out of luck. They can be pretty territorial. A raphael cat may be alright. They are pretty tough and tend to stay hidden most of the time. Good luck with what ever you decide to do.
