55 Stocking-Mini Monsters

My 55 is empty and cycling I was thinking the following
1-2 Senegal Bichir
4 Clown Loachs
1 Rocket Gar(Ctenolucius Hujeta)
a couple more but don't know what I would like some mid-dwellers.
Upgrading is NOT a option in the Future

i have a 55 with 2 senegal bichir. im pretty happy with it .

Not sure about the others but the 4 clown loaches will outgrow that tank (they grow up to 12") and if upgrading is not an option you will have to find new homes for them in the future. JMO

Even the Gar will outgrow the tank. If uprading isnt an option, then you cant have these fish. You should think about another stock. The (2) Senegals would be fine, you could add maybe 2 medium fish like 4-6 inch range and they would be comfortable.

clown loachs growth rate seems rather slow and upgrading in the time they need might be able to happen but not before. Or could sell them when the time comes.

I'm a big fan of keeping fish just for the experience and then trading them with a friend of mine that has 200+ tanks and the space to keep what I can't. For example I have 3 Heros rotkeil in my 55 right now. they are getting close to the time that they need to be gone and then I will just get some more juvie fish and then the process repeats. Works for me.

I have 2 senegals, 2 african butterfly fish, and will be picking up 6 or so congo tetras when I find some for a decent price around here. Maybe an african leaf fish would be cool too. Just make sure your filtration and wc schedule is up to it
