why not try a freshwater moray eel they need brackish

I had one, Then found out to live their entire life they have to be in full marine

i've seen a complete 55 gal salt setup with all the stuffs for $45bucks
guy hasn't emailed me back yet its been a month too

for an eel how about a chain eel or a jeweld mooray eel, wolf eel they would all work fine in a 55g and possibly a lion fish theres a lot of options but for an eel they are the best i can think of

You've named pretty much all of the "Cool" eels you can keep in a 55g, So those are all the options.
