So my aunt started into saltwater and has a 55gal + stand freshwater tank she no longer wants and is going to give me. Included are some powerheads and airstones/pumps.

The filtration she has are penguins which I am not a fan of. I'm looking at the Ehiem 2213 and a single AC50 for filtration. A sand substrate with some PVC tubing and fake plants for decor.

The fish to put in would be 5 clown loaches a Sen Bichir and 2 Angelfish (generic petsmart ones).

*Am I overstocked even with that filtration with good movement on the bottom to kick food/waste into the filters?

*The bichir and loaches are for sure going into the tank.

*Any other fish that could be added/swapped for others?

*All suggestions welcomed and appreciated.*

Angel fish might get eaten by the bichir and ur loches r going to a bigger tank later? They grow VERY slow but will need a much larger tank later on don't see any other probs

Thanks for the replies.

The Angels largest angel is 4" from bottom fin to top fin.

Largest clown is 3.5"-4" and only have 3 atm, going to get the other 2 once I have the tank, probably smaller ones.

The Bichir is on the purchase list as well, so it'll be 3"-3.5" when purchased.

You'll be fine for a little bit but i'd already be thinking about another tank soon...
Edit: I am actually... lol

If I with-held from getting the 2 other Loaches it would extend upgrade time further obviously but how much? I only have 3 ATM.

Also what should I run in the Ehiem? The AC I was planning on 2 sponges and a Bio-max but possibly do all BIO in the Ehiem and just 3 sponges in the AC?
