is this a sump or a wet dry
is the water dripping into the bio-balls or are they fully submerged?
if they're dripping then the last baffle (wall) is too tall, the water won't reach the pump until all the bio-balls are submerged.

That last baffle is too high. That will make the water level in your sump all the way to the top, and your bio balls will be submerged. Is that your intent? Also, having your water level that high could be risky. When the pump goes off, water will continue to drain into the sump from the tank until it clears the overflows. You may not have enough room in the sump to catch that water, and you'll end up flooding your sump.

I guess it will be a wet dry. Water will be dripping on the balls.

This is just my first design. I have tried to look around on here but some are hard to see clear cut designs. If anyone has a better one I would be more than happy to take suggestions.

It won't be a wet dry with that last baffle so high. The water will completely cover the bio balls. The last baffle should be just a few inches tall.

ok, other than that is looks fine though right?

Yeah aside from that, it's a standard wet/dry sump.

Here's my design

Awesome thanks. I have seen that before. Couldnt find it though. Just what I was looking for.

also the first baffle shouldn't touch the top of the tank. give it an inch or so gap just like jcardona1's diagram
this ensures that if the water in the first chamber floods for any reason (eg. filter floss is too dirty) it would first flood into the bio-balls section rather than out of the tank.
