I'm considering setting back up my 55g twin tube tank by Truvu. It is 48"x12"x24" with 8" Long tubes conncecting the two tanks. Filtration will either be an FX-5 with inline heater and uv, or an Emperor 280 on each side. I may or may not grow pothos from the top as well.

Ideas for stocking?

I'd like a schooling fish that is pretty hardy and eats dry food.

So far, I am thinking about 6-8 Striped Silver Dollars,or possibly some Albino / regular roseline barbs.

I'd want some fish that will swim through the tubes!

Sounds like an interesting style of tank, would love to see a pic

Have you considered a shrimp tank , you could do some interesting aquascaping in an unusual styled tank like that

Not a good tank for silver dollars, the way they swim requires open space, this is basically two small tanks that fish pass between. SD's get too big for this imo.
The roselines would be better, still a little big imo. the two tanks are 24" long each?
Tiger barbs would be good. They are nippy but if they are the only fish that doesn't matter.
Larger tetras would be even better IMO. Like congo tetras.
