55g

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you could breed any of the three mentioned in this size tank. i think the o is to much tho!

Firstly, I have no problems with people who know what they're doing when they overstock tanks, there are plenty of them on this website and they'll tell you it's a lot of trial and error and a lot of work. Successfully overstocking tanks requires three things, knowledge, money, and time. The differences in practical/typical stocking opinions also come down to three things.

a) Just straight up being uninformed as a result of refusing to listen to advice
b) Stocking what you can stock
c) Stocking what you should stock

You can fit a Jack Dempsey, Gold Saum and Texas pair into a 55 gallon tank. Should you? Definitely not in my opinion.

thanks sooo much guys! The reason i'm goin w/ nothing bigger than a 75 is b/c theres only such a big gap between the wall and a door thats there. And my parents wouldnt allow (at least i dont think) a 225 but i would try for 1 but dont have the $ myself for 1:irked: The only way for me to get another tank is to buy w/ my own $$. So i'll check the 90g and it could work.

i'm gonna go w/ the 90g setup. If my parents let me (they should i'm buyin it) than i'm gonna go w/ that. Saw a 125 for $450 but thats high on my budget. If i had a bit more $ i would have gotten that but the 90 is perfect!

Your fish should be happy for quite some time in a 90, depending on what fish you get you may need to upgrade to a longer 6' tank in the future but that won't be for a while. I check Craigslist everyday, I got my 125 setup for free, a free 75, and a $30 40Gal Breeder setup.

I know it was a stretch but I have an oscar in a 55g and I find myself preforming w/c about every two days to keep good water quality, but this fish is lucky because our water is considered the best in canada :D
the O probably won't grow to his full size but worse things have happend. I've seen full grown oscars crammed in 10gallons:(
