So i saved up enough money for a 55g and im not getting it anytime soon so i thought I'd do my research and i was wondering...what are some nice mean fish such as like a fish that would eat feeders whenever i felt like getting some (not as a steddy diet just every once in a while) and its gotta be pretty big

55g tank only goes for free-40$around here on craigslist. you should check it out. seen complete setups with stands 50-70$ also.

yeah thats where im lookin right now actaully. thats were im gonna buy. but i was wonderin what are some sweet fish that'll eat feeders for a 55g

Well, if you want a "pretty big" fish for a 55, I wouldn't get anything bigger than maybe 8-10" and for fish that big, you'd only be able to have maybe 2 in a 55. If I was going to do a 55 gallon predator tank, I'd do about 15 Exodon tetras. They aren't too big, but they're very aggressive feeders (basically what people expect piranha to be, only smaller). They'll gladly tear apart feeders every now and then

yes BUT they're more like fin nippers. i want something more like a 8-10inch fish maybe 2 of em

Although I'm not a fan of feeders for food. I think a green spotted puffer would do nicely in a 55g. You could have a breeding colony of snails and give him snails daily to prevent his teeth from overgrowing. They have a big appetite and a great personality. He would need brackish and eventually saltwater when he becomes an adult.

fahaka puffer..... but only if you intend on getting a bigger tank eventually
