55gallon w a small african knifefish

I have a small african brown knifefish. He's really cute and friendly. Right now he is in a 55gallon all by himself. I know he will get bigger and I will get a him new tank in a couple of months. (after I move, I will get him a 90 or a 120 gallon tank)
What would anyone suggest I keep with him? I feel sorry for him being all by himself. Anyone else have a african brown knifefish? And what would you recommend I keep with him? Thank you in advance :)

Mine is in a 55 and I think that is where he is going to be staying for life. Right now he is in there with an angelfish, elephant nose, a senegal, and a green phantom pleco. The ABK stay pretty small in captivity and should do fine in a 55, so flame me now, but unless I see he needs bigger hes staying where he is.
 
You know...the lady at the LFS told me he will get up to 36 inches. Which I couldn't help but laugh, I tried not to but it just came out. lol.
I think the african theme is good, and also, I have really wanted to get a senegal bichir. Those are soo cute.
I want to get him a bigger tank eventually still, I guess the main reason is so that I can keep other fish with him but leave plenty of room for all.
 
i believe it's like 9-12'' or so... sens go great with em...

fishfood im suprised the mormy and knife are cool together...
 
it should be fine in a 55 for life, anything said above would work. + more african knives will be ok.

the lfs lady must have confused it with a clown knife if she thought it got 3 feet long. I've got one in with a senegal they get on just fine
