Well, finally got my custom sump built and the plumbing put together and the Apex configured. I think I went a bit crazy with adding floats and running an RO line from my garage directly to the top off res. (Went over well that I drilled a hole through the wall.) I still have quite a bit of work to do. We decided to get rid of the dining room table and extend the stand so the bar is facing the tank. The tank is long enough to have seating for 6...should work well.
A few notes:
1) Closed loop has one center drain at 1.5" and returns to 4 3/4" returns. The pump is a ReefFlo Hammerhead 5500+ GPH
2) The return pump is a 3000 GPH ReefFlo Dart and also has 4 expansion ports to be used for the Skimmer and other items.
3) The refugium is 100+ Gallons measuring 60x22x18 running miracle mud. I decided to go with mud because I had such great luck with it on my previous tank. However, I will still run my skimmer and refuse to have a 1" sand bed.
4) I have an Apex Neptune with two DB8's and a breakout box hooked to 4 switches (Sump High, Sump Low * 2 (Redundant), Res Low). I love being able to get alerts on my iPhone...nerdy!
5) I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed the substrate but it's still cloudy. As you can tell in the pictures.
6) I ordered 5 27" Maxspect Razor LED fixtures. Once mounted and added I'll post the update.
7) I have 500 lbs of rock coming on Tuesday and will start the grueling process of drilling and inserting acrylic rods for the rock scaping. I may add another 500 lbs depending on how it looks.

I'll post more updates when I get the rockscape, lights and bar built.
Cheers!
Tom
