6-7" pike?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with those cichlids don't get a pike that small your going to wan't a larger pike the saxatilis group may be to small get a pike around 10''-12''

RD with a EBJD uhh ohh that could be a costly mistake

So far the RD and EBJD ignore each other but I am home all day to keep an eye on them. I realized by everyones advice I need to go bigger. I think I may try to find a marm, really like the coloration and pattern. Next question is does anyone know where to get a smaller one? I have found them at 8-9", but wanted to start out smaller, maybe 5-6 inches. Everyone in the tank is in the 4-6" range except the Bleekeri and Pleco, so I didn't want to go too big to start. If that is a bad idea, let me know. I am just getting into pikes and can use all the advice I can get.

8'' is a huge belly crawler most top out a about 6'' and i love mine they r very cool and pretty and fun to watch eat live foods

belly crawlers can hold there own and they r very very fast so they can get away just have alot of hidin places

if u do go bigger than a belly crawler i would get an orange pike they get about 10 to 12'' and very tempermental but wont beat your fish to death but will prob run your tank

Have a sax being delivered today:headbang2 I believe they called it a ring tailed pike. Pics when it is in tank.

I bought a ring tailed pike from that fish place in PA and it ended up being a belly crawler?

I thought a spangled pike was a saxatilis?

Spangled is a common name that can get tossed around quite easily.

Saxtiline pikes are an entire group with several species.

Here is the new pike I got. It is about 3-3 1/2 inches. Was sold as a saxitalis, hope you guys can give me a positive ID. Still kinda skinny but better than when I got it. Feeding pellets and cut pieces of market shrimp.
Let me know what you think.
