well if you have the ray and the african together in the same tank, while ur feeding the both of them ull feed it bloodworm or nightcrawlers and say the blood worm is on top of the ray the african will eat off of the ray thus stressing it out and in time it will die do to stress!! ive seen those rays die and how the african killed it!!

But you can't really call that agression can you?

It was asked about the aros. agression, which didn't really mean compatability to me I guess. I dunno.

Im with BOTR. My 8" is awesome and doesnt mess with anyone. he spends his day playing in the sand and swimming with loaches.

leemacc- dont see how this would happen unless your tank was way to small.

couldnt edit my last post and forgot to add thats a good price for the aro... good luck with sale.

Africans are filter feeders. Not a threat to anything but their own.

this is generally correct as i have kept several africans throughout various stages of their lives. they are generally not a threat to other fishes, but can pick on their own kind and occasionally chase tankmates. they don't have teeth that can do any damage to other fishes.

they are more or less filter feeders, or more accurately small-item feeders as they prefer items on the order of mysis, bloodworms, blackworms, pellets broken up; although larger ones will eat rosies.

sorry to derail, but wanted to provide some info there.

$70 for an african that size is indeed a steal; good luck with the sale, and someone should definitely take advantage of this!!!--
