6" clown loach price!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There was a CL at my local Big al's that looked to be around 9" listed for
$399! CAD

75 bucks for a 6 incher . The biggest ones I have ever seen was in Taiwan and they were at least 12 inches and about 4 inches tall for 100 bucks a piece this was in 93 went back last year and did not see any bigger than 5 inches. Most people think 4 inches are actually 6 inchers.

I bought two together a few months ago, one about 6 and the other 4ish for about £50.
The funny thing was the fish shop guy said they were a breeding pair.. to wish any clown loach fan will know what I thought of.. b0ll0cks.

I wish I could find a deal like that around here. The only CL I was able to buy were 2" for $6. Largest ones I ever seen were at the Tennessee Aquarium but they were only about 6"

Here in Aus, its about $15-$18 each for 3" juvi.
Since you are talking about 6", its about $80> upwards depending on store.
I have seen about $100 + and more if its 20".

From one of the largest wholesalers in Australia an extra large loach (20-25cm) will wholesale for about $160ea depending on number available. Retail prices here would be the following at well priced LFS

1" $6
2" $10
3" $15
4" $20
5-6" $40
6" + Whatever they want to charge.

You can find them both cheaper and more expensive but for fear of someone flaming me for under or over estimating I went in the middle

Ugh... It hurts to hear this. I lost 5 of them all were a true 5.5" to 6" (measured against a ruler with photos) about 5 months ago to a random breaker flipping in the middle of the night (along with countless other fish). Worst part was that they all had great oddball patterns. I'm not even sure I'd want to know what they were worth. I was too upset to even post about it at the time much less worry about how much I lost monetarily. :(
