6 feet tank long enough for 14" fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have several tanks from Glasscages. They all work fine... work fine...work fine... work fine... Sorry.

The aquariums might be okay from Glasscages, but expect every single aspect of the transaction to be messed up. Worst experience I ever had buying anything and I had spent thousands of dollars....

SO i should expect a good tank but, i should also expect to be treated like a turd by them, and should have no hope of a smooth transaction. Ok glass cages it is I can deal with bad customer service to save several hundred.

They are all about 3 inches right now, so i figure I have at least another year before i have to move them. I whipped up a price from GC and they said 1079 for a 8'x2'x2' plus 120 delivery. I could get a 260 from a LFS for 1400 and feel good about supporting a LFS but then I am stuck with a 6 foot tank.

The story that made me not want to shop with them was at reef sanctuary, a guy ordered a 240 and it cam with flakes in the glass. He called GC and they told him he would have to drive it to them an hour and half away from his house. Now I do fault him for taking possession of the tank when he saw the flakes on the truck, and they did offer him a refund on delivery if he kept the tank.

I still feel that they should have offered to replace the tank at no cost to him, I mean we are not talking about a small light or something that you can ship for 20 bucks. I know that most things bought online make you pay for returns, the difference here is they are the manufacture the distributor, the everything. if it arrives messed up its their fault and they should do whats needed to fix the problem.

Perfecto makes a 7ft 265. check several LFS I know im my area you can get them for around $1050. Perfecto also has lots of sales that they advertise through the LFS. I got a 220 reef ready for 25% off last month.
