U.K.
so far we have 2 large acrossocheilus sumatranus reserved for pick up on saturday but no idea what else to stock, these 2 are rescues taken in for rehoming. what else would you put in? we want a fairly peaceful tank, no oscars, plecos(i just dont see the point) or carnivorous fish please. the tank is 6 x 2 x 2 and has driftwood and a few live plants. its cycled using comets and fancies but the fancies are due for rehoming on saturday as they just dont seem to get on in this tank, they chase and harrass each other constantly, im thinking tinfoils, bala sharks, something large that will appreciate the room. also could the 2 comets remain in the tank? will there be issues with the barbs? the tank stays at a minimum of 76 degrees without a heater, so heat wont be an issue, just want to know peoples thoughts.

you cant keep goldfish with tropical fish, they demand difrent requirments. if u want peacefull fish go with platys or mollies , neon tetras etc.

Hmm if you go predator you are open to FAR more options...But peaceful is almost every barb, tetra and livebearer...

right, ok, well if i rehome all the cold water fish, what would stock well with the 2 large scaled barbs? i want it to be active, but i really dont want the threat of them chewing on each other etc. my water parameters are nitrites and ammonia 0, nitrates around 15-20 towards water change time, ph 7.5, they get 50% water change every week with thorough gravel vac. i dont want carnivorous fish, unless they will be ok on pellets, and dont need live foods apart from maybe blood worm or brine shrimp. the tank is 6 x 2 x 2, so i want some sizable fish, but unsure what would go well. i am considering maybe an oscar and a black ghost knife, but really want to look up the care of the fish i plan to get, so i want to plan the stocking beforehand. everything will be stocked around the 2 barbs, i really dont want any plecos, nothing that hides a lot, i dont like smaller fish, i already have a small tropicals tank, and i dont want anything that may nip at fins etc. i will add a heater to hold the temp steady at 76-78 degrees. thanks for your help.

Right a BGK will be ok I have got a few ideas. Some severums could work...Maybe a small school of tinfoilf barbs, kissing gouramis,Sailfin mollies get to 18 cm and are very active colourfula and easy to breed altough they are rare and pricey for adults.I think a fire eel will bw ok.Maybe some lemon finned barbs and you could do a big school of tiger barbs...Maybe som e datnoids. Also these are just ideas =P

With sizeable fish (20 cm +) some bichirs could work out.

One of the nicest fish in the trade, Sunshine Pleco. These can get to 30 CM (12'') and would make a nice addition to you tank.It really depends on what 'sizeable' is..

there is very little info out there on them, they grow to a max size of 10 inches, which these 2 are at already, their care requirements are very similar to that of tin foils, i will see if i can find some links to them on the sites i found.
