Hi Guys,
Just a quick update on my CA/SA community 180g after 6 months. I'm not having huge growth rates like some of you guys but I am running at only 24C (75F?) which I believe is on the cooler side and may be contributing. The fish all seem happy and healthy and enjoy their twice daily feed. The nitrates only just exceed 5ppm before the weekly water change so I figure things are OK on that side. Filtration is currently Eheim 2228, Fluval 404 and an AC110.
The photo's aren't fantastic, the Mrs broke the good camera out on a girls night. Crazy women!
First up is the Blue Acara - this guy is getting some nice iridescence to him which is kinda visible in the photo. He's down the bottom of the pecking order now after his early dominance in the tank.
Here's the Salvini. It didn't like the camera too much and he faded out a bit on his top half. Not sure what to expect with this fish. He is a bit of a law unto himself, lots of gill flaring and short chasing to any fish who enters his territory.
This is the Tex. She's porked up heaps since the 3 month update! This fish never seems to be involved in any trouble. It doesn't seek it and the other fish just seem to not try it on with her for some reason.

6 Months:
Here's the head honcho GT. This guys seems to have bumped of the Dempsey as top fish without resorting to violence... a plan he tried about month 4 that worked out badly as the JD ripped his lower jaw up real good. His extra bulk has obviously got the JD deciding not to square up. Unfortunately this means the JD is hiding a lot more now.
And finally the one mostly in focus shot from my little shoot:
Thanks for watching
