I think your last pic in the first post should be your avatar pic!

Yeah I may just do that! Still I do like to be able to see how small the GT was just a few months ago. I love growing the fish up.

I have some Syno Eupterus in my 235g. Watching them develop the big fin extensions and get all beefy has been awesome.

was that green texas or red texas? it looks prettier than just a regular texas.

great healthy looking cichlids mate ! i personally would run it at a slightly higher temp say around 78f,you will certainly get a faster growth rate then and i feel the cichlids will be more comfortable as 74f is slightly lower than what is recommended for these fish, but great fish none the less

Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure the Tex is a carpinte but I don't know if it is a variant like Escondido or anything. I'm in Australia so there is always the chance that the stock is hybridised unfortunately. We don't get an awful lot in the way of new blood down here.

Very nice setup love the tank!

I upped the temp to about 77-78F over the weekend...

Damn my GT has developed some attitude! If I get within about 2 feet of the tank he starts tracking me, flaring gills, biting the glass and looks like he wants to beat hell out of me :headbang2

Maybe it's a coincidence but it's definitely since the temp change. I've never seen him pay any interest to outside the tank before. Maybe he was too chilled out previously?!
