Friend on mine had a spawn of Cichlasoma dimerus location Bella Union back in June, and I ended up with about 10. Plan is to put them in the pond this spring.

Cichlasoma are my favorite Cichlids. I'm currently keeping a few different species, including C. dimerus. Yours are looking great.

I keep passing these up but they are so nice. I need to find a tank for some. I just got some wild A. latifrons (finally!) so maybe these guys are next.

Duane, about how big are they now? It looks like you got really good growth over six months.

Ryan, I picked up some wild A. latifrons as well. I got mine from Jeff (Rapps), they came in at a decent size. Did you get yours from him also? By the way, I've got pairs of 3 different forms of C. dimerus, that are more or less constantly spawning. Let me know if/when you want some. I usually just let the fry get eaten, but I'll be happy to pull a few for you next time they get free swimmers. Duanes, sorry for the derail.

I don't consider it a derail, I like any discussion about the less talked about cichlids on the site.
I caught some shots this morning with a couple of the smaller siblings.

my guess is the large one is male, and the others in the shots, female

What's with these brown fish what's the attraction? How could you not like this group of fish.....
