yeah I like NTT too. but 2 NTTs = Hiders?. Are ITs more active than NTT? I was considering something else besides NTT cause I dont like how my 6 incher hides so much. =/ any thoughts?

You never know with Dats. Dim lights may make them swim around a bit more, as well as some floating plants.

My IT's actually hide more then my NTT's.

Better buy them quick before they raise up in price... haha :headbang2

I am only planning to keep a couple of each species. I already have 2 NTTs that are growing up nice and big. They are 6" and 7" and I had them since they were 2.5"

NTT>ST for me but not in price...

It sucks Datnoids are not predictable. I guess I just have to go with what I like and hope for the best. =)

And i was just kidding about the thinbars and the price. I was just commenting about getting them before the surge of hype and then the inflation of cost.

My last question would be, does anyone have just 2 datnoids in their tank? maybe 2 NTTs to fill my curiosity? if so, how was the turn out?

thanks guys

See my post above. Dats works better in bigger groups regardless of the species. An excemption can be NGTs.

Yes I know they work better in bigger groups. I even addressed that in my first post. but For my situation, I am not planning to have more than 2 Dats due to tank capacity, so the question that is effecting me the most is "does anyone have just 2 datnoids in their tank?" and how did it turn out? thanks though arkmann, I'm not neglecting ur opinion or your help =)

Its all good bro. You know what, having only 2 NTTs might be a problem. My two 12" STs are always on each others ass. It could be different though because NTTs are more "reserved."

I had (at one point) 2 NTT's in the same tank. A 5.5" and a 10". No issues at all but then again that is a good size difference, and they were together since the size difference was 2" and 9.5".

I also had (at another point) a 3rd NTT in the tank with the above to mentioned Dats. The 3rd one was equal in size to the smaller one. The 2 small ones were separated by a divider when they were first introduced into the tank as they were only about 1.5" and I had some larger fish in it. So it was only those 2 together. Besides some food aggression and pushing each other from a hiding spot, there was no problem.
