60 gallon and 20 gallon sand filling

Will a 50 pound bad of sand fill a 60 gallon and 20 gallon comfortably?

I would say yes but I would start with the 60 gallon first. Is it pool filter sand? Either way I would rinse it first before you put it in.

It is black diamond sand..

Just bought two 50# bags for about $16 myself. Was thinking I would use one a piece on two 55's. Still remodeling my basement so I haven't redone the tanks yet. Let me know how that works out as far as fill level and ease of rinsing.

Update: filled my 60 gallon only with a 50 pound bag of sand! Barely had enough for it alone.

Looks good? I still haven't switched over myself yet. Planning on it this week. How was the cleaning process? Did it take Long to wash? I figured 50# would only do a four foot tank. So I bought the two, one for each 55. Let me know how you prepped it and if your tank was cloudy.

I cleaned all of it for 2 hours and it still clouded up my tank a lot. Just clean it for awhile in separate buckets and it should be fine!
