60 gallon for dat

I was told a 60 gallon is too small for a dat. I have read they reach 16-18 inches but they grow really slow. I have nothing in my tank now would I be able to put a smaller one in there for a few years? thanks

16-18"? That depends on the species of Dat you are getting.

Get a 1" IT and save a quarter a day and by the time the fish outgrows the 60 you will have saved enough money for a ]v[ONSTER TANK!

What would be some good tank mates for him??? I was thinking tin foil barbs and some sort of pleco. Any other suggestions??

where exactly can I get one?? I found that liveaquaria has them they are out of stock (although i don't need it right now )and I haven't ever seen them at any the lfs. Do any of you guys buy them online or in the san antonio / austin area?
