butterfly fish suck in my opinion. i have one and its just sits there. but i agree with the dude above me about the small cat and the birchirs. african knifes are good too. i have one and h is great

Awww I like the butterfly fish, they make a nice fish for the top of the tank. I have a tank with a senegal bichirs, african brownknife fish, and a rainbow shark. It's a very peaceful and nice tank. Everyone gets along.

thanks for the ideas but do you think i can add just a few fancy goldfish?

A few fancy Goldfish would be great assuming you didn't mean WITH the brackish fish. Dojo Loaches go real well with fancy goldfish, like the same water temps and are excellent cleaner-uppers. They do like soft sand though. They're schooling fish (actually Goldfish basically are, too) so do better in groups of at least 3.

ya not with blackish fish but fish that can live with fancy goldfish at temp. 75 to 77 degrees
