I’ve got the same stand and using it for a couple of 10g tanks. Agree with some of the above posts that I definitely wouldn’t trust it unmodified for a 48” tank.

suggested is a good one. Another easy modification is to add a piece of plywood to the back, driving in screws to secure it to sides, top and cross-pieces. This adds a lot of shear support which is one obvious weakness of this stand.
