I am pricing out my next tank now.

I know it will be Tenecor for the reputation, since it will be made by tenecor, it will be acrylic obviously.

At this point, I am contemplating wether to get a 3 feet wide or 4 feet wide tank.

The tank will be 8 footer in length. I'd like to get them longer but in the interest of cost, I may have to keep it at 8 ft (Acrylic sheet comes in 8x4 sheet). This will eliminate having to fuse 2 sheets of acrylic together to make a 10 or 12 foot long tank.

I have been trying to imagine how 4 ft tank would look like and just having a hard time doing it. I'd like to get the 4 ft wide tank so I can keep my fish for their entire life, but I am afraid the 4ft wide tank may become an eye sore over time. The tank will be the showcase tank in the middle of the house, so I need it to be more presentable. If the tank would go to the fish room, I can really careless about having an eye sore..

If you guys have a pic of a 4ft wide tank, I'd like to see it..I have seen a 3 ft wide tank but not a 4 ft wide tank..

thanks

Lay a 4x8 sheet of ply wood down, or tape off a 4x8 area and that will give you an idea of what the size will look like.

I guess I should've re-phrased my question.

I think I can figured out how big 4x8 is, I am more concerned on viewing the tank with 4 feet wide versus 3 feet wide. I am very interested in seeing a setup within someone's living room or anywhere in the house where 4ft wide tank sit.

How it look in relevance to the rest of the room..

I know how much room it takes, I am more interested in seeing how everything fall together or will it be an addition that sticks out kinda oddly..

I doubt anyone can offer any help on this without having access to your house. This sounds open to intereptation anyways. Female occupants being the typical critiquers...

Here is a 8 x 4 x 2 tank. They are big. In a small room it will be in the way. I'll try to get a picture up of how it looks in the room. How big of a room are you considering putting it in?

4 feet by 3 feet? that almost seems like it would be best recessed into a wall or used as a centerpeice.

I think you should be fine as long as the tank can be veiwed from all sides and not just the front. If the tank is 4 feet deep there is a good possiblity that the smaller fish in it won't allways be viewed from the side or profile view. but If you can get to all sides of the tank and look in from where ever it should look really good.
