Awesome Jen! I can't wait to get home to watch those youtube links you posted! You should be fine! May be water change more often the first couple of weeks until the bacteria catches up with the fish load. :) Those ammo chips could be a pain! They may exhaust before you know it! :D

Ammo chips would only be to help remove the ammonia I couldn't get from a water change. I would by no means rely on them, but use them for as some additional help. I'll probably be testing the tank twice a day for a while, and I've just come to the realization that I might just be doing water changes everyday for the first two weeks. We'll see.

Next move, which should be a while from now, invest in a silk KOI net...Mine has got a 12" loop and a 48" long silk bag with an open end.
You just hold the end closed, net the fish and move him to the new water and let the open end of the bag loose in the water...they slide right through with no problem...best thing ever for moving Monsters...nothing can catch on the net, and the silk is durable...

For the next move I'll definitely look to one if those longer ones. However, these guys will probably be significantly larger. So at that point, I think I'll get myself trained for fish anesthesia. Other than the first two who are doing just fine, everyone was moved relatively easily. The only thing is that koi net we used was just shredded our ripsaws. I don't know what it was made our of, but their sides and pectoral fins just ripped right through it.

Looks incredible Jen. I would reduce the feeding significantly for a few weeks just to minimize the chance of a bioload explosion in that tank...lol... nothing but pooping machines in that tank..haha..At least this way the bio will catch up with the amount of fish dumped in their all at once.

Thanks. :) I was think the same thing about the feeding. I'm not sure if you can see it in the video, but the stress got these guys pooping like crazy. They left poops all over the sand the size of a land cat's. They'll get something to eat in a couple days, and then maybe a very small amount other everday for about two weeks. I want to keep the bioload as small as possible, but also consistent. I threw in quite a bit of wood that was in the 180, so this should help boost the filtration. Now to start on moving everyone around, putting together an additional filtration tank using plants, building the 180 gallon stand, and insulating the 600 stand. How is there always so much to do?!?

and then there's putting in an auto w/c system, and after that theres looking for a new perminent place to live, and then ther building an even bigger setup, and then there's adding the filtration for that setup, and then theres moving the fish into that sycled setup, and then theres insulating that tank/pond/stand/whatever, and then theres settign up another auto w/c system, and then theres .......

Decorating a giant catfish tank is like doing laundry or dishes for a giant family. Its never ending as it never seems to stay the way you left it. If I'm going to actually do any decorating, I'm going to have to heavily secure it together and in place. It will be semi permanent in that I will probably have to get in and out of the tank to place it or move it.

Ah, how sweet! You remembered my To-Do list! Seriously, its probably the most complete list I have. Too afraid to think about how much there is always to do. Too overwhelming.
