tragedy struck tonight. my lone aro jumped his way straight down to the basement. about a 30foot drop, hitting his spine instantly killing him. i wasn't here but the guards at the lobby saw him jump out of the tank and raced down to get him but unfortunately he died instantly. poor thing. tsktsk... he jumps everyday catching the flies on top of the tank but his last jump was like twice as high for him to get out of the tank! blame is all on me anyway, i shouldn't have underestimated him, should have closed the cover on top even though its so hot here, and should've fed him well today.
update of the tank. missing the arowana so top part of the tank seems rather empty except during feeding time. damn maintenance guys decided to put two tilapias in the tank to see if the bass will eat them, one got killed within seconds, the other one stuck through it and is now growing. you'll see him in some of the pics.. Tried taking it out but failed miserably, so hard to take out live fish from this tank that i have never succeeded before. planning to take out some monocs in the future but my kelb and orino growouts are taking too long to grow. anyway here they are, slightly bigger than last update but all still healthy with two new plecos as tankmates. total cichlas: 4 pleiozonas, 2 temensis, 2 orinos, 6 monoculus and tons of pics hahaha
looking forward to it - let us now how you're growth with the Temensis has been? i'm looking to get one myself and i'm interested in how long it will take to get him monster size
The two new plecos are the titanic panaque and a royal panaque, i figure it will take an inch per year for them to grow so best start now, in 8years, they will be monster size! I got my tems at 4 inches 6months ago, now they are about a 12-13 inches. If you have a large enoug tank i would recommend them. Brings another shade of color in your tank and its nice to have a more slender spotted fish with your wide bodied fishes
Ps. Bones- i guess tems will be a bit like pinima in appearance and growth?
