60g discus tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You didn't provide any background info, so lets start with the basics.
When did you set up this tank before introducing the discus?
Is the tank cycled?
What is the temperature of the water?
Did you acclimate the new discus to your water before releasing them into the tank?

Sounds like they are very stressed, so the best thing to can do right now is keep the tanks light off and leave them undisturbed for a few days. Then after a few days trying feeding them again, but leave them alone to eat and still keep the tanks light off.

It's been set up about a week. Yes it's cycled. Temperature is 82-84 yes I did. And okay thank you.

imho it takes about a month to properly cycle a tank. But if you had already put in a cycled filter from another tank or recycled some media that would be a different story

You can have 4 to 5 in there with a vampire. Do at least 2 water changes a week. If you remove thebpleco, you can do 6.

I took water from my 150 gallon to fill it and had fish already in it before the discus to ensure the cycle was completed. Plus gravel from another tank and plants.

Just an fyi, water from a cycled tank holds little beneficial bacteria value. All you did was transferred waste water from another tank. The gravel will have a bit of bb and the plants will help with waste removal if there is enough of it in that 60gal. Keep an eye out for ammonia because if it starts showing up, that tank doesn't have enough bb.

But it's better than having just tap water and having to condition it.
