60g setup with black background/black sand and African cichlids

1) not sure, probably a hybrid
2) looks like a male p. crabro
3) melanchromis species, not sure which.
 
cool tank! but def get a lot more rock for them. the little blue guy with the horizontal bars is a johanni. the synodontis is a good choice instead of the clown loaches. some look awesome (synodontis multipunctatus for example)
 
Some have names. S. Multipunctatus is "Cuckoo cat" Others of the same type but different species are upside down cats, or "Tiger Syno". S. Multipunctats are neat, colorful, and pretty small. Also are S. Petricola, and S. Angelica.
 
yes the cuckoo cat! i forgot myself. when my lfs sells them they never label what kind of synodontis they are. it's usually just "synodontis sp." i just look around to find a neat one. i have black and white sand and use red lava rock. i like the look of it
