Hey guys, I'm looking into getting a stock tub for some motoro rays. I just need help with how many rays can fit in these tubs and live and breed comfortably. It's not working to insert a pic, so here's the link. 610 stock tub link It's 8 feet in diameter and 2 feet hight. I don't need the heighth, but it's there I guess.

I was thinking of several females and a lone male. You tell me, I've never had a footprint of anywhere near this size. The plans would be on breeding the rays, so whatever would work best with females vs. males would be good. Here's a link I made in the DIY forum as to why I'm asking this question. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?487891-The-Ray-Room Any help would be appreciated.

it would work for rays but for breeding it would be better if it were taller. what is your plan for filtration because with motoros you will need lots of it

The height doesn't matter with rays so don't listen to that. I think it would work great but you would have to figure out some sort of filtration.

Really? I'd like to see an adult female Motoro flipped in a 2' tall pond.

I wouldn't listen to someone telling me height doesn't matter ;)

The ray isn't 2 feet in diameter so therefore she can be flipped

Ummmm.......huh?
are you one of these guys that dont own a ray, yet, likes to post in the ray section.?
because your advice is horrible.
i have never bred rays..but i damn sure know that height means a lot.

I have one of the 600 gallon 8 foot pools. I bought it for my dogs for hot days. They are 24" high to the top which means the running height would be closer to 18 to 20". A little too short for breeding. A company out of Florida makes fish tubs that would work much better. The name is aquatic Eco systems.

2 feet is fine I seen with my own eyes 17 inchers breed in less then 2 feet

Check out the other thread I linked in the DIY section. Basically I would make a stand over it and put 2 55 gallon plastic drums on the stand. I would fill them with scrubbies or some kind of media for the bb and hook a pump up to it to get the water flowing through it. Would still have to clean it of.course. Would this be enough filtration with a large enough pump?
