640gal for 1000 bucks?

I just got an offer to buy a 640gal tank with the pumps for 1000 bucks but it is all skratched up. is this a good deal, and can the glass or acrilic be buffed to make it look good?

fast feedback would be apriciated before it gets sold to someone else.

The dementions are 8ft wide x 48in tall x 32in deep.

If it is acrylic the scratches can be buffed out.
If it's glass your s.o.l.

IMO yeah. Acrylic is very expensive,and even if you have to put in a few hours to get it clear again,a 640 for a grand is a steal.

How can you tell by looking at it if its acrilic or glass? i never looked at an acrilic tank that close. im guessing by looking for the silicone, that will tell me its glass right?

acrylic will have no plastic braces like glass tanks. It will be bonded at the edges. And a 640 of those dimensions for 1000 is amazing. with that height, the acrylic will be very very thick. Got any pics?

if it has silicone it is glass. Also you can look at the top bracing, if it is one solid clear piece with holes cut in the middle of it, it is acrylic.

damnn tats a steal. i gotta say wat the other say. just look for the silicone or the bracing
