Well there may be a sticker on the bottom of the tank, saying "Tempered, do not drill," which I had on my old glass tank.

well..... yeah obviously if theres a sticker that says "tempered"... :screwy:

Actually there is a way to tell if its tempered or not. You need a pair of polarized sunglasses to see it, but you can see the internal stress in tempered glass. To see what I mean use a pair of polarized sunglasses to look through a window in your home (standard glass aka annealed) and then through a storm door or even some glass cookware (tempered glass). You'll see what I'm talking about. Just make sure the sunglasses are polarized or it wont work.
