I am converting the Midas tank to a Malawi show tank with lace rock. It will still have the BG on it and I will floor it with aragonite. I have an Eheim 2217 with in line heater so I can't imagine I will need more filtration. I know some about Tanganyikan cichlids, but not Malawi. As I said, this will be a center piece on my living room and want some beautiful, colorful and very active inhabitants. Please tell e why you suggest what you do. Thanks.

All male peacocks wouldn't be near as aggressive as a male mbuna tank. They are much more peaceful.

I like Ruby Reds, Lemon Jakes, Eurekas, and Benga.......there are a bunch of options.

What happened to your Midas?

I guess that shows how much I know about Malawi

Midas is fine, moving him to bdroom in a 4ft 75 to give him a little more swim room while opening up the tank in the living room to something a little more active. I will have Malawi and Tanganyika in the livingroom:headbang2

I second the idea of all male peacocks plus a few smaller haps to add variety.... blue-type Copadichromis, Otopharynx, lethrinops, maybe a blue-type Placidochromis.

I got some I love intermidius ob peacocks red jewls. And the big guys venustus. Those are what I own and have good luck with but wow so many options. I will post a link for you in a sec.
