680L Dovii Tank Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
awesome set up....you could fit in a piece of bogwood though...just a teensy bit....!!

Lookin reeeal good. A nice big piece of driftwood will look even better.

Hey all,

its almost two weeks since the tank has been up and running.

and so far, so good. this initial trial run has been good so far with just a few minor issues.. overall, very happy with the outcome..

ok, other then keeping a close eye on my dovii settling in, the only thing else ive done is clean up wiring and mounted some power outlets and lighting inside the cabinet. (see pics)

After some thoughts, I have been convinced and will be getting my hands on a black back ground :)

And will be finishing off the rest of the decor (gravel + large rocks) shortly after some final water level tweaks.

Stay tuned....

Looks nice, how big is the Dovii?

Heres a big update of the last few months, but I wish the pics and vids came out better quality.. Anyway, hope you enjoy as much as I do :)

June

Lost one of the younger (weaker) juveniles and was left with two.. And I had to treat the whole tank for itch. mmm Nice and green...
July
I woke up one night to get a drink and thought I'd pop in to see if theres anything interesting going on..

Late July
I picked up a healthy 25cm Golden Pleco and scored a 15cm Jag on the way! (cant seem to find my pleco pics)

Throwing Jag in the works definitely made things a little interesting, these guys just had to be separated, it was just a non stop 24/7 rumble!!

But now the Jag is up for sale (So if you're in Sydney, PM me!) I need to make room for bigger Dovii to come..

August

In a short space of time, I found an awesome new pair! Estimated sizes (need to measure them one day)

Male 26-27cm

Female 22cm

And hopefully, by the looks of things, they might end up breeding :)

September
I got new 4ft grow out and separated my original (younger) Dovii pair into the new environment, while the big boys own my 6x2x2... The new 4ft tank is a part of my breeding racksetup in the build.

And yeah, finally ended up getting some natural rock Decor, whereby the new tenants seem to have done some excavation work and made the place a little more to their liking...

Once the Jag is sold, I will relocate the Pleco and remove the divider...
