6ft Diameter pond-Big enough?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think your's has more gallonage due to higher sides.
The one I plan to get is about 12''-15'' high.
Basically just a $25 hard plastic kiddie pool but colored black.
I was planning to build a DIY sump/wet dry out of a 55 gallon rubbermaid.

Was also looking at these:

Although, that is a bit big for in the house...
It has the two holes in the side, perfect for intake/outake of sump.

Also, the filter it comes with, couldnt I gut it and make it functional for filtering the pond?

I have what you are talking about as a temp pond. works very well. I started building her real pond, but it will take me all summer.

Thats basically what I'm talking about.
Except the one I plan to get has thicker walls, and harder plastic.

I remember seeing the thread you made about this.
I want to know more about your filtration..

I dont know exactly what route I'm going to go.
I may purchase a rubbermaid stock tub, I thought they were $$$ but I fund 5' diameter and 2' deep for $100.

Will the motoros be ok with a Lei aro? I was thinking of getting one at 10''
I dont know what size I will be getting the ray at.

that combo should be fine.... lei aros are pretty laid back
