the other thing i would suggest for them to be constant active fish is to keep their diet as much as possible of insects, i go with meal worms and super worms once every week, and feed them only twice or thrice a week, i say this 'cause my auranti was very sluggish when it reached 15"+ and since i added worms to the diet, i have seen a more active channa. and keep them as lean as possible thats when their beautiful fins actually grow taller, else u will have shorter fins and placid fish
