6x4x2 big enogh for rtc ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
FYI, I have a 8'x4'x30" tank with 2 TSNs and 1 RTCxTSNs (as well as a couple others) who are less than 1 1/2 years old ranging from 24-26". I'm crossing my fingers this will hold them for another 1-1.5 years, but I'm not sure this will. I'm going to say for life you look at a very bare minimum of 12'x6'x3.5" to keep them wet and at least be able to turn around, but this will still be a tight fit and they won't be able to swim that well. Round stock ponds like a 12' round is better for them so they don't trash around as they try to turn.

Agreed, but depending on the gene's of you hybrids, TSN grows way slower then RTC's. So chances are you'll be good longer then 1 1/2. I had a tsn for 2 years and it got to 2' in two years.

8x4x3 is my biggest tank that i can get lol

so a rtc will NOT be ok for a rtc for life ?
if not than :(

My TSN is larger than the hybrid and growing like a weed. At a year and a half she's already 26". The hybrid is 24" and growing like crazy too.
:jaw-dropp I must of got a midget tsn. :(

lol

if i cant get a rtc

than im gonna keep it simple with a 4x4x3 pond and a pair of silk flowerhon

It could be a male versus female thing too, but I don't know if there is sexual dimorphism in this species.
