+2 vote for the many smaller schooling fish... schooling fish behave so much differently in giant tanks... putting big fish in big tanks is, well, like a scaled up normal tank.

Piranha!! To bad I live in ny :( , I would love them thou.

Also on the contruction, Couldn't i just forgo a routered out front plywood piece and frame it off with 2x4 and glue my glass to that from the inside.

I like that idea even better, but define massive :)

For the tetras? If you're talking smaller species like cardinals then I'd say 100+ at the least! :headbang2

Gars all the way! Drift wood, Pbass, longnose gar and maybe a TSN. Sounds like a good tank to me! *Hint, what i have and very much enjoy!*

Never seen an Amazonian gar before...

Or, if you want a different option, add plenty of driftwood, a large group of wild-type angels, massive school of tetras, massive school of corydoras, pairs of apistogramma and other dwarf cichlids, pencilfish, smaller plecs, maybe even a group of hatchetfish at the top. Peoples instinct is to put big fish in big tanks, but large numbers of little fish can be every bit as interesting and appealing IMO.

I couldn't agree more, with exception to the angels, but that's due to my inexperience with them. I've just heard they can be fin nippers, but in a tank that size, that may all change.
